We are looking for a Biomedical Engineering Technician to join our team in supporting the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of medical equipment and healthcare systems. As a crucial part of the healthcare environment, you will work closely with engineers, clinical staff, and medical teams to ensure the reliability and safety of biomedical devices. Key Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance and repair support for a variety of biomedical equipment (e.g., patient monitoring systems, imaging devices, surgical tools)
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, providing solutions to ensure devices function optimally
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards
- Assist in the installation and calibration of new medical devices and healthcare technologies
- Perform routine testing, calibration, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Support the training of healthcare staff on the proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medical devices
- Maintain detailed records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and repairs
- Collaborate with the biomedical engineering team to develop and implement maintenance schedules and equipment management protocols
- Assist in the management of inventory and spare parts to ensure the availability of critical components
- Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities related to biomedical equipment
- Assist in the installation and upgrade of software and firmware for medical equipment when necessary
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in biomedical engineering support or technical services in a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and healthcare technologies
- Experience with troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, IEC 60601, ISO 13485)
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software components in medical devices
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documents
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clinical staff, engineers, and other team members
- Bonus: Certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) or equivalent
