Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a meticulous and proactive Research Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in research administration, with experience in managing and overseeing research projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the research team to achieve its goals. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our research operations, and the successful candidate will be instrumental in driving our research initiatives forward.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination: Oversee the daily administration of research projects, including tracking progress, managing schedules, and ensuring timely completion of milestones.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all research activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, including ethical standards and funding requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of research activities, budgets, and documentation related to compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Management: Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of research data, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Support: Provide administrative support to researchers, including scheduling meetings, coordinating with external stakeholders, and facilitating communication across teams.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on research progress, financials, and compliance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Funding Administration: Assist with grant applications, monitoring of grant expenditures, and reporting on grant outcomes.
  • Training and Development: Support the training and development of new team members in research administration practices and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Research Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in research administration or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in research management software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes effectively.

Experience

  • Research Administration: Demonstrated experience in managing research projects, including handling budgets, compliance, and stakeholder communication.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Grant Management: Experience in handling grant applications and financial tracking is highly desirable.

Working Hours

  • Part-Time: Approximately 20-25 hours per week.
  • Flexible Schedule: Hours can be adjusted based on the candidates availability and project needs, with the option for remote work.
