Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing and Coding: Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using the ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems. Ensure correct billing for services rendered and submit claims to insurance companies.
  • Claims Management: Review and process insurance claims, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on denied or unpaid claims to secure reimbursement.
  • Data Entry: Maintain and update patient records, ensuring all information is complete, accurate, and compliant with healthcare regulations.
  • Compliance: Adhere to healthcare regulations and policies, including HIPAA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Communication: Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to address billing inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Documentation: Prepare and manage detailed billing reports and documentation for internal and external audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical coding software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance billing processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to analyze and review detailed information to ensure accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals and insurance representatives.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot billing issues and resolve discrepancies.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required; however, previous experience in a medical office or billing environment is beneficial.
  • On-the-job training will be provided to ensure proficiency in our specific billing and coding processes.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek.
  • Regular office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime as needed.
