Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking dedicated and customer-focused Ground Staff to join our aviation support team at OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg. This role is essential in ensuring smooth airport operations, delivering exceptional passenger service, and maintaining safety and efficiency across all ground handling activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about working in a fast-paced airport environment.

Key Responsibilities
Assist passengers with check-in, boarding, and baggage handling procedures
Provide accurate information regarding flight schedules, delays, and gate changes
Ensure compliance with airport safety and security regulations
Coordinate with airline staff, security personnel, and other departments
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special service requests professionally
Support ramp operations including luggage loading/unloading when required
Maintain documentation and operational records accurately
Assist passengers with special needs, including elderly and disabled travelers
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; degree in aviation or hospitality is an advantage
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
Basic computer proficiency
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
Experience

Prior experience in aviation, customer service, or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory
Working Hours
Rotational shifts including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays
Flexible working hours based on airport operations
