Job Summary

GradeBuzz is seeking a highly skilled and performance-driven Remote Backend Developer specializing in Node.js and Express to lead our API scaling initiatives. This role is ideal for a backend expert who thrives in high-traffic environments and is passionate about building robust, scalable, and secure systems. As an API Scaling Lead, you will play a critical role in optimizing backend architecture, ensuring system reliability, and supporting rapid product growth.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.

Lead API optimization initiatives to handle high concurrency and large-scale traffic.

Architect and implement microservices-based backend systems.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and improve response times.

Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams for seamless integration.

Implement caching strategies (Redis/Memcached) to improve performance.

Ensure security best practices in API development (authentication, authorization, data protection).

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js framework.

Solid understanding of REST API design principles and best practices.

Experience with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Knowledge of caching mechanisms (Redis preferred).
