The Elite Job is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Senior Accountant to join a fast-growing EdTech startup environment. In this role, you will oversee key accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and support strategic financial decision-making. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial integrity, improving accounting processes, and supporting the leadership team with insights that drive business growth. Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analyze financial discrepancies.

Support external audits and coordinate with auditors when required.

Develop and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and financial procedures.

Collaborate with operations, finance, and executive teams to provide financial insights.

Monitor cash flow, revenue recognition, and expense management.

Provide strategic recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

Experience with cloud-based accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

Experience

Minimum 5–8 years of professional accounting experience.

Prior experience working in technology startups, SaaS, or EdTech companies is highly desirable.

Proven experience managing financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Experience working in remote or distributed teams is a plus.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Flexible working hours with overlap required for collaboration with global teams.

Availability during core business hours as agreed with the finance leadership team.
