Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Tax Associate – National Compliance to join our remote finance and payroll team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll tax processing, regulatory compliance, and timely filing of payroll tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws while supporting efficient payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns accurately and on time.

Monitor payroll tax compliance requirements and ensure adherence to all regulatory updates.

Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Collaborate with payroll and finance teams to ensure correct tax withholding and reporting.

Assist with payroll tax audits and provide required documentation to regulatory authorities.

Maintain accurate records of payroll tax filings and compliance documentation.

Research payroll tax laws and regulations to support company compliance initiatives.

Support payroll processing cycles and ensure correct tax calculations.

Identify process improvements to enhance payroll tax efficiency and accuracy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in payroll systems and accounting software.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Experience

Minimum 2–4 years of experience in payroll tax, payroll administration, or accounting roles.

Experience handling multi-state payroll tax filings is highly preferred.

Prior experience with remote payroll operations or shared service environments is an advantage.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Flexibility may be required during payroll cycles, tax deadlines, or audit periods.
