This role is responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance leadership, operations, and academic program managers to ensure financial transparency and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and closing processes.

Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory standards, and internal controls.

Support budgeting and forecasting processes for academic programs and digital learning platforms.

Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways, and tuition payment systems.

Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for cost optimization.

Work closely with finance managers and leadership to improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy.

Support grant accounting, scholarships, and education-related funding where applicable.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is preferred.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote teams.

High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Experience

Minimum 5–7 years of professional accounting experience.

Prior experience in E-learning, education services, SaaS, or higher education finance is highly desirable.

Experience handling multi-entity accounting or international transactions is a plus.

Proven track record in managing month-end and year-end closing processes.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Standard working schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Flexible work hours may be available depending on project and team needs.

Occasional overlap with global teams may be required.
