Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant – Food Manufacturing to join our growing remote finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing cost accounting processes related to food production, inventory valuation, and operational cost analysis. As a remote professional, you will collaborate with finance, procurement, and production teams to monitor cost structures, analyze variances, and recommend improvements that enhance operational performance in the food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze production costs, raw material expenses, labor costs, and overhead allocation across food manufacturing operations.

Prepare detailed cost analysis reports to support budgeting, forecasting, and pricing decisions.

Monitor and maintain accurate inventory valuation and cost records in accordance with accounting standards.

Perform variance analysis to identify cost discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Collaborate with procurement and production teams to evaluate cost-saving opportunities.

Develop and maintain standard costing systems and cost models for various product lines.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review.

Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal financial policies.

Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA is preferred.

Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing finance.

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with remote teams.

Experience

Minimum 3–6 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within food manufacturing or FMCG industries.

Proven experience working with inventory costing, production cost analysis, and variance reporting.

Experience in a remote or distributed work environment is an advantage.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Standard working schedule of 40 hours per week.

Flexible work hours with occasional overlap required for cross-functional meetings.
