Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Senior – Estate & Gift Tax to join our growing remote finance and taxation team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex estate and gift tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of federal and state estate and gift tax regulations, excellent analytical abilities, and the capability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

As a Tax Senior, you will collaborate with internal teams, financial advisors, and clients to ensure accurate tax reporting, compliance, and strategic tax planning. This role offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated tax matters while building strong client relationships and contributing to high-quality tax services.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review Estate Tax Returns (Form 706) and Gift Tax Returns (Form 709).

Provide strategic tax planning for estate transfers, wealth preservation, and gifting strategies.

Conduct detailed tax research related to estate, gift, and trust taxation.

Analyze financial statements, asset valuations, and trust documentation.

Assist clients in developing tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies.

Coordinate with legal advisors, wealth managers, and internal accounting teams.

Ensure compliance with federal and state estate and gift tax regulations.

Review tax documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Support junior tax staff through mentoring and technical guidance.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing tax laws and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.

CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.

Strong understanding of estate, gift, and trust tax regulations.

Advanced knowledge of tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote work environment.

High level of professionalism and client service orientation.

Experience

Minimum 4–7 years of experience in public accounting or tax advisory.

Proven experience preparing estate and gift tax returns.

Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, or family offices is preferred.

Prior remote work experience or ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Standard working schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility depending on project deadlines).

Occasional extended hours during peak tax filing seasons.
