Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Remote Revenue Accountant – SaaS Deferred Revenue to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing revenue recognition processes, particularly within a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment. You will ensure compliance with accounting standards while supporting accurate financial reporting and forecasting.

This position requires strong expertise in deferred revenue accounting, subscription billing models, and revenue recognition principles. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with finance, sales operations, and billing teams to ensure accurate contract interpretation and revenue allocation. Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain deferred revenue schedules for SaaS subscriptions and service agreements.

Ensure compliance with ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards.

Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue treatment and allocation.

Record monthly journal entries related to revenue, deferred revenue, and contract liabilities.

Perform revenue reconciliations between the billing system, CRM, and general ledger.

Support the month-end and year-end close processes related to revenue accounting.

Assist in preparing financial reports and revenue analytics for senior management.

Collaborate with sales, legal, and billing teams to evaluate new contract structures.

Support internal and external audits by providing revenue documentation and schedules.

Identify opportunities to improve revenue accounting processes and automation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Strong understanding of SaaS revenue models and subscription-based accounting.

Knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards.

Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms).

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Experience

3–6 years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a SaaS or technology company.

Prior experience managing deferred revenue schedules and subscription billing systems.

Experience working with financial audits and revenue compliance.

Background in ERP implementations or revenue automation tools is an advantage.

CPA or equivalent certification is considered a strong plus.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.
