Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Senior GL Accountant – BlackLine Systems Lead to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing general ledger accounting processes while leading the implementation, optimization, and administration of BlackLine systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, excellent analytical abilities, and hands-on experience with financial automation platforms. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, improving reconciliation processes, and strengthening internal controls across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the general ledger (GL) accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Serve as the BlackLine Systems Lead, responsible for system configuration, enhancements, and ongoing optimization.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations using automated reconciliation tools.

Partner with finance, accounting, and IT teams to streamline financial processes and drive automation initiatives.

Review and approve complex journal entries and reconciliations prepared by junior accountants.

Maintain compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and internal control procedures.

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities and reporting schedules.

Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to GL activities.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and implement best practices within the accounting function.

Provide training and guidance to team members on the effective use of BlackLine and related financial systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification such as CPA, CA, or ACCA is preferred.

Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.

Hands-on experience with BlackLine systems administration and optimization.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.

Experience

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

Proven experience in general ledger accounting and financial close processes.

At least 3+ years of experience working with BlackLine or similar reconciliation automation tools.

Experience in a remote or global accounting environment is an advantage.

Prior experience leading accounting system improvements or automation projects is preferred.

Working Hours

Remote / Work From Home position.

Standard working schedule of Monday to Friday (8 hours per day).

Flexibility to collaborate with global teams across different time zones when required.
