Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Grants Accountant – Federal OMB Compliance to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring grant-related financial activities while ensuring strict compliance with federal regulations, including the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Uniform Guidance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting organizational accountability, transparency, and financial integrity across federally funded programs.

Key Responsibilities

Manage financial reporting and accounting processes related to federal and private grants.

Ensure compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and other federal regulations.

Prepare and review grant budgets, expenditure reports, and financial statements.

Monitor grant spending to ensure alignment with approved budgets and funding restrictions.

Coordinate with program managers to track grant performance and financial outcomes.

Support grant audits, including preparation of documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Maintain accurate grant records and documentation for regulatory compliance.

Reconcile grant accounts and ensure timely posting of financial transactions.

Assist with grant proposal budgeting and financial planning for new funding opportunities.

Provide guidance to internal teams regarding allowable costs and compliance standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Strong understanding of federal grant compliance regulations and OMB Uniform Guidance.

Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines simultaneously.

Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a remote work environment.

Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in grant accounting, nonprofit accounting, or federal fund management.

Experience handling federally funded grants and compliance reporting.

Prior experience supporting single audits or federal grant audits is highly desirable.

Experience with financial reporting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems is preferred.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Standard working hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).

Flexible scheduling may be available depending on project needs and deadlines.
