The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Work From Home Staff Accountant – Pharma Clinical Trials to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will support financial operations related to pharmaceutical research and clinical trial programs. The ideal candidate will manage accounting records, monitor research budgets, assist with regulatory financial reporting, and ensure compliance with financial standards relevant to the pharmaceutical and healthcare research sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to clinical trial expenses and research operations.

Prepare and review financial reports, journal entries, and monthly closing activities.

Track clinical trial budgets and compare actual costs against approved research budgets.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical trials.

Monitor vendor payments, investigator grants, and contract research organization (CRO) invoices.

Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and financial schedules.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams including clinical operations, procurement, and finance.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial tracking systems for research projects.

Maintain proper documentation and ensure financial transparency for all clinical trial accounting activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive financial and research data.

Capability to work independently in a remote work environment.

Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or clinical research industries.

Experience handling research budgets, grant accounting, or clinical trial financial tracking is highly preferred.

Prior experience with remote accounting operations or distributed finance teams is an advantage.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Standard working schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.

Occasional flexibility may be required during financial closing periods or audit cycles.
