Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Part-Time Remote Accountant – Non-Profit Fund Accounting to support our growing portfolio of non-profit clients. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who understands the unique financial structures and compliance requirements of non-profit organizations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing fund-based accounting, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulations. Working remotely, you will collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to maintain financial transparency and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and manage fund accounting records for multiple non-profit organizations.

Prepare and review financial statements, grant reports, and budget reports.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.

Track restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and donor contributions.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts regularly.

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.

Support the preparation of documents required for audits and regulatory filings.

Monitor budgets and provide financial insights to support strategic decisions.

Collaborate with program managers and leadership teams on financial planning.

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure financial data integrity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Strong understanding of non-profit fund accounting principles.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the non-profit sector.

Experience managing grant tracking, donor-restricted funds, and financial reporting.

Prior experience working in remote or distributed teams is an advantage.

Experience supporting financial audits or compliance reporting is highly preferred.

Working Hours

Part-Time Position (15–25 hours per week).
