The Elite Job is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Fractional Controller to support fast-growing Series B technology startups with financial leadership, operational efficiency, and scalable financial infrastructure. As a Fractional Controller, you will provide part-time but high-impact financial oversight, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and data-driven decision-making. You will play a key role in managing accounting operations, improving financial processes, supporting fundraising readiness, and helping leadership teams maintain financial clarity during rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll oversight.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or applicable standards.

Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance practices.

Provide strategic financial insights to founders and executive teams to support growth and operational efficiency.

Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to guide company performance and planning.

Collaborate with CFOs, investors, and board members on financial reporting and performance metrics.

Prepare financial data and documentation required for fundraising rounds and investor due diligence.

Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial service providers.

Support the development and scaling of financial systems, policies, and accounting automation tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional certification such as CPA, CA, or CMA preferred.

Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and startup finance operations.

Expertise in accounting software platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple clients or projects simultaneously in a remote environment.

Experience

Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.

Prior experience as a Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, or Finance Leader within a technology startup environment.

Proven experience working with venture-backed companies or Series A/B growth-stage startups.

Experience supporting fundraising processes, board reporting, and investor communications is highly desirable.

Experience with remote or distributed teams is an advantage.

Working Hours

Flexible fractional engagement (20–30 hours per week) depending on business needs.

Fully remote work environment.

Must be available for periodic virtual meetings with startup leadership and finance teams.

Ability to collaborate across multiple time zones is beneficial.
