Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Virtual Bookkeeper specializing in Shopify and Amazon e-commerce accounting. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a remote environment and have experience managing financial records for online retail businesses.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling transactions, managing daily bookkeeping tasks, and supporting financial reporting for multiple e-commerce accounts. This position requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of e-commerce platforms, and proficiency with modern accounting tools.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities for Shopify and Amazon e-commerce accounts.

Record financial transactions including sales, refunds, fees, and inventory adjustments.

Perform bank, credit card, and payment gateway reconciliations.

Track and reconcile payouts from Shopify, Amazon, and third-party payment processors.

Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate classification of transactions.

Prepare monthly financial statements including profit and loss reports.

Monitor inventory cost tracking and cost of goods sold (COGS).

Assist with tax preparation by organizing financial records and documentation.

Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.

Collaborate with internal teams and business owners to provide financial insights and recommendations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting standards.

Familiarity with e-commerce accounting processes and transaction flows.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.

Experience working with Shopify and Amazon financial reports and dashboards.

Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

Experience

Minimum 2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in e-commerce businesses.

Hands-on experience working with Shopify and Amazon seller accounts.

Experience reconciling payment processors such as PayPal, Stripe, or Amazon Pay is highly desirable.

Previous remote work experience is considered an advantage.
