Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Data Analyst with expertise in Health Informatics, particularly HL7 and FHIR standards. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing, analyzing, and interpreting clinical data to support healthcare initiatives, improve patient outcomes, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a strong understanding of healthcare data standards and interoperability.

The Clinical Data Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams including clinical operations, IT, and research departments to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of healthcare data across systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, validate, and manage clinical datasets from multiple sources, including EHRs, EMRs, and health information exchanges.

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows adhering to HL7 and FHIR standards.

  • Transform raw clinical data into meaningful insights to support clinical research, reporting, and operational decision-making.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements, data collection methods, and reporting needs.

  • Identify data quality issues and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of clinical datasets.

  • Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively to non-technical and clinical teams.

  • Stay current with healthcare data standards, regulations, and emerging technologies in health informatics.

  • Support clinical trials, research studies, and regulatory submissions with accurate and timely data analysis.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Health Informatics, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare data standards, including HL7, FHIR, CDA, and other interoperability frameworks.

  • Proficiency in data management and analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, or SAS.

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems and clinical data repositories.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, GDPR, and FDA regulations in clinical data management.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and clinical teams.


Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in clinical data analysis, health informatics, or a related field.

  • Prior experience working with clinical research data, patient registries, or healthcare IT systems is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex datasets and produce actionable insights.


Working Hours

  • Full-time, remote-friendly with flexibility in working hours to accommodate cross-timezone collaboration.

  • Occasional meetings with stakeholders may require core overlap hours.
