Job Summary

HR Service Jobs is seeking a highly creative and sustainability-driven Remote Sustainable Fashion Designer with a strong focus on upcycled and recycled textiles. This role is ideal for a designer who is passionate about circular fashion, ethical production, and innovative design solutions that reduce environmental impact. The successful candidate will work remotely, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design contemporary, market-relevant collections using reclaimed, surplus, and post-consumer materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Design innovative fashion collections using upcycled, recycled, and surplus textiles

• Research sustainable materials, textile sourcing, and eco-friendly production techniques

• Develop design concepts, mood boards, sketches, and technical design specifications

• Collaborate with production, sourcing, and merchandising teams to ensure design feasibility

• Redesign existing garments and materials into new, marketable products

• Ensure all designs align with sustainability, ethical, and brand standards

• Monitor fashion trends, consumer preferences, and sustainability innovations

• Support sampling, fitting, and design revisions through virtual collaboration

• Maintain accurate documentation of design processes and material usage

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong portfolio demonstrating sustainable fashion and upcycled textile design

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D, or similar tools

• Solid understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and textile behavior

• Creative problem-solving skills with a sustainability-first mindset

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Attention to detail and strong aesthetic judgment

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in fashion design, preferably in sustainable or ethical fashion

• Hands-on experience working with upcycled, recycled, or deadstock materials is highly preferred

• Experience working with remote or global teams is an advantage

Working Hours

• Fully remote position

• Flexible working hours with alignment to project deadlines

• Availability for virtual meetings across time zones as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of sustainable fashion practices and circular design principles

• Understanding of eco-certifications, ethical sourcing, and responsible manufacturing
