Job Summary

FedEx is seeking a motivated and dependable 1st Shift LTL Dock Warehouse Associate to join our Emerson facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our logistics operations, ensuring that freight is efficiently received, sorted, loaded, and unloaded in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently load and unload freight from trucks and trailers at the dock.

• Sort and stage shipments according to destination, size, and priority.

• Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and hand trucks.

• Maintain accurate records of received and shipped goods.

• Inspect freight for damage and report discrepancies to the supervisor.

• Ensure all warehouse operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.

• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Ability to lift heavy packages repeatedly (up to 70 lbs).

• Basic computer skills to track shipments and update logs.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

• Prior warehouse, logistics, or freight handling experience is a plus.

• Forklift certification preferred but not required; training may be provided.

Experience

• 1+ years of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics environment preferred.

• Experience with dock operations, LTL (Less-than-Truckload) shipments, and freight handling is highly desirable.

Working Hours

• Shift: 1st Shift (Daytime)

• Monday through Friday; occasional weekends as required.

• Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong physical stamina and endurance for lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

• Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

• Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.

• Problem-solving skills for handling shipment discrepancies or operational challenges.

• Adaptability to a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
