FedEx is seeking a highly motivated and safety-focused Full-Time Material Handler with Hazmat Certification to join our logistics and operations team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe handling, movement, storage, and transportation of materials, including hazardous goods, in compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency, workplace safety, and the timely delivery of shipments across our global network.

Safely load, unload, sort, and move freight, packages, and hazardous materials within the facility
Handle, store, and transport hazardous materials in strict accordance with DOT, OSHA, IATA, and FedEx safety regulations
Inspect shipments for accuracy, damage, and proper labeling, especially hazmat documentation
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and hand trucks
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas at all times
Accurately complete shipping records, manifests, and hazmat documentation
Identify, report, and respond to safety hazards or incidents promptly
Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and safety officers
Adhere to company policies, operational procedures, and safety protocols
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and safety
Valid Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Certification (DOT-compliant)
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulatory compliance
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Forklift or material handling equipment certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or material handling
Prior experience handling hazardous materials is strongly preferred
Experience working in regulated environments such as transportation, manufacturing, or distribution centers is an advantage
Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week
Shifts may include day, evening, night, weekend, or holiday hours depending on operational needs
Overtime may be required during peak periods
In-depth knowledge of hazmat handling procedures and safety regulations
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50 lbs or more with assistance
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Problem-solving skills and sound judgment in safety-critical situations
Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
