Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking dependable and proactive individuals to serve as Seasonal Security Officers for public parks. This is a vital role focused on ensuring the safety and comfort of park visitors, protecting property, and maintaining an inviting and secure environment during peak seasons. Key Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned park areas on foot or vehicle to ensure safety and security of visitors and facilities.

• Monitor for suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or breaches in park regulations.

• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations calmly and effectively.

• Report daily activities, observations, and incidents to the supervising officer or park management.

• Provide directions, assistance, and general information to park visitors.

• Monitor entry and exit points during special events or high-traffic periods.

• Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency responders as needed.

• Ensure playgrounds, picnic areas, and restrooms are safe and secure.

• Enforce rules related to park hours, restricted areas, and prohibited activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).

• Basic knowledge of security protocols and public safety principles.

• Ability to remain calm and act quickly in high-pressure or emergency situations.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Physical stamina and fitness to walk or stand for long hours in outdoor conditions.

• Professional demeanor and sound judgment.

• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

• Security guard certification/license (preferred, but not mandatory – training can be provided).

Experience

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or public safety is preferred but not required.

• Entry-level candidates with a responsible attitude and eagerness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Working Hours

• Flexible scheduling: morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts available.

• Shifts may range from 4 to 10 hours depending on park schedules and events.

• Seasonal employment typically spans from early spring to late autumn, depending on regional park operations.
