Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers to safeguard the residents, staff, and property of an elderly care facility. This role is ideal for compassionate and disciplined individuals who understand the importance of maintaining a secure and peaceful environment for vulnerable senior citizens. As a frontline representative of safety, the Security Officer will be responsible for monitoring activity, responding to incidents, and ensuring the overall protection of the facility 24/7.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances, exits, and all common areas to prevent unauthorized access and ensure resident safety.

• Perform routine patrols of the interior and exterior of the facility.

• Assist residents, visitors, and staff with directions, safety concerns, and emergency procedures.

• Maintain a visible and professional presence at all times.

• Report suspicious activity, incidents, or safety hazards immediately.

• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms or emergencies, including medical situations.

• Enforce visitor and employee identification policies.

• Maintain detailed and accurate daily activity reports and incident logs.

• Collaborate with facility management and local authorities when necessary.

• Ensure all security equipment is operational and report malfunctions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Valid Security Officer license or guard card (as per local/state regulations).

• Strong observational and decision-making skills.

• Basic knowledge of emergency response protocols and first aid.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.

• Professional appearance and conduct.

• Physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods.

• Must be trustworthy, responsible, and punctual.

Experience

• Previous experience in a security, military, or law enforcement role is preferred.

• Experience in healthcare or eldercare facilities is an advantage but not mandatory.

• Freshers with the right mindset and proper certification are welcome to apply.

Working Hours

• Rotational shifts available: Day, Evening, and Night shifts.

• Full-time and part-time positions available.

• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Familiarity with CCTV systems and access control devices.

• Understanding of elderly care sensitivities and respectful interaction.

• Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.

• Conflict de-escalation techniques.

• Ability to operate communication devices (e.g., radios, intercoms).
