As a Ground Equipment Coordinator within IndiGos AO&CS – Ground Support Equipment division, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and timely operation, deployment, and maintenance coordination of ground service equipment (GSE) across airport locations. Your role is critical to supporting aircraft turnaround operations, maintaining equipment availability, and upholding safety compliance standards.
Supervise the daily operation and allocation of ground support equipment (baggage tugs, GPUs, pushback tractors, air starters, etc.)
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and report any equipment malfunctions to the engineering/maintenance team.
Monitor equipment performance, usage, and downtime to optimize productivity and reduce delays.
Ensure equipment availability and readiness in coordination with the aircraft movement schedule.
Maintain accurate records of equipment movement, faults, servicing, and operational logs.
Liaise with ground handling staff and terminal teams to ensure seamless coordination of airside support.
Conduct safety checks and routine inspections, ensuring compliance with DGCA, BCAS, and IndiGos operational standards.
Train and brief GSE operators on handling procedures, usage guidelines, and operational safety.
Report any hazards, incidents, or non-compliance situations to the Airport Operations Control Center.
Support implementation of sustainability initiatives by monitoring fuel use and exploring electric GSE alternatives.
Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related technical field.
Sound knowledge of ground service equipment operations and airside safety.
Working knowledge of airport operations, preferably in AO&CS or related functions.
Proficiency in MS Office tools for report preparation and equipment tracking.
Strong interpersonal and coordination skills, especially in high-pressure airport environments.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and safety documentation.
Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in ground support equipment operations or airport logistics.
Prior experience in GSE handling, fleet coordination, or airside safety will be preferred.
Rotational shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Flexibility required to adapt to irregular airport operation hours and flight schedules.
Understanding of IATA, ICAO, and DGCA regulations related to airport ground operations.
Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders under time-sensitive conditions.
Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Capability to work both independently and in a team.
