Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Jenkins and Ansible. In this remote role, you will be responsible for building and managing robust CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure deployments, and collaborating with development and operations teams to deliver high-performing, scalable, and secure cloud environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.

  • Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates with Ansible and ensure consistent environments across development, staging, and production.

  • Collaborate with development, QA, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications.

  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and security; troubleshoot and resolve issues in real-time.

  • Optimize cloud infrastructure costs and maintain high availability in production environments.

  • Develop and maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and processes.

  • Automate routine system tasks, deployments, and environment provisioning for increased efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with security best practices, internal policies, and external regulations.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response as needed.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience with Jenkins for creating complex CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong proficiency with Ansible for configuration management and automation.

  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), particularly IaaS and PaaS components.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell.

  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and version control systems like GitHub or GitLab.

  • Understanding of networking, DNS, load balancers, and VPNs in cloud infrastructure.


Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or Cloud Engineer role.

  • Demonstrated history of deploying infrastructure as code and managing production pipelines.

  • Experience in agile and fast-paced development environments is highly desirable.


Working Hours

  • Flexible remote schedule.

  • Core collaboration hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST (with flexibility to work across time zones when needed).

  • Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend support in case of critical releases.

  • Deep understanding of DevOps culture and automation-first mindset.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
