Key Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and submit medical claims to insurance companies

• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and ensure timely reimbursements

• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility

• Handle billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies professionally

• Maintain accurate records of billing and payment activities

• Stay updated with the latest HIPAA and insurance regulations

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or certification in medical billing preferred)

• Experience with medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, Athenahealth, or similar)

• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding

• Basic knowledge of healthcare insurance policies (Medicare, Medicaid, private payers)

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Medical billing certification (such as CMRS or CPB) is a plus
