Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking detail-oriented and driven Junior Medical Coders to join our growing healthcare documentation team. This is a remote opportunity ideally suited for recent graduates or individuals looking to launch a career in the medical coding and health information management field. As a Junior Medical Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing clinical documents and assigning standardized medical codes that support billing, compliance, and statistical reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze patient medical records and clinical documentation.

• Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation and coding guidelines.

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of coded information.

• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to clarify inconsistencies in documentation.

• Adhere to HIPAA and regulatory compliance requirements.

• Support the billing department in ensuring clean claim submission.

• Participate in training sessions and ongoing learning to stay updated with coding changes and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems (training will be provided).

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Computer proficiency including MS Office and cloud-based platforms.

Experience

• No prior experience required.

• Fresh graduates in Life Sciences, Health Information Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health are encouraged to apply.

• Internship or certification in Medical Coding (AAPC/CPC or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory.

Working Hours

• Full-time position with flexible working hours.

• Core availability expected between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (based on time zone alignment).
