Job Summary:

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking dynamic, energetic, and service-oriented individuals from South Africa to join leading international cruise lines as Bartenders. This is an exceptional opportunity to travel the world while working in a fast-paced, luxurious hospitality environment. As a Cruise Line Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, creating memorable guest experiences, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service onboard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to passengers in bars, lounges, restaurants, and poolside areas.

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the bar area in accordance with company and maritime health regulations.

• Provide friendly, efficient, and personalized service to guests while managing high-volume service hours.

• Promote daily drink specials and upsell premium beverages.

• Manage inventory, restock supplies, and handle cash or card transactions accurately.

• Monitor and limit guests alcohol consumption in accordance with safety protocols.

• Work closely with other Food & Beverage team members to ensure smooth operations during shifts and events.

• Participate in onboard training, drills, and company meetings as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; hospitality or bartending certification preferred.

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Basic math skills for handling transactions.

• Positive attitude with a team-first mindset and professional grooming standards.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1-2 years bartending experience in a high-volume bar, hotel, cruise ship, or luxury hospitality setting.

• Previous cruise line or international hospitality experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

Working Hours:

• 10 to 12 hours per day, 6 days a week (as per ship rota).

• Rotational shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Contract duration: 6 to 8 months onboard, followed by a scheduled leave period.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of classic and modern cocktail recipes, bar tools, and beverage safety.

• Ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.

• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to interact with a diverse international clientele.

• Familiarity with cruise ship safety and sanitation regulations is beneficial.
