Key Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a courteous, professional manner

• Take accurate food and beverage orders and deliver them promptly

• Explain menu items and offer recommendations to guests

• Set up and clear tables efficiently before and after service

• Ensure the cleanliness and presentation of the dining area

• Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage items, including ingredients and preparation methods

• Comply with hygiene, safety, and security regulations onboard

• Address guest concerns promptly and escalate when necessary

• Work collaboratively with other dining team members and kitchen staff

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Matric Certificate preferred)

• Strong verbal communication skills in English

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

• Friendly, positive attitude with a professional appearance

• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods

• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of basic food and beverage service standards

Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in a waiter/waitress or food service role in hotels, restaurants, or cruise lines

• Experience working with international customers is a plus

• Cruise industry or 4-star/5-star hospitality experience is highly desirable

Working Hours

• Rotational shifts (8–10 hours per day)

• 6–7 days a week during contract period

• Schedule varies based on ship itinerary and dining operations

• Ability to memorize menus, table layouts, and special requests

• High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
