Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a passionate and experienced English Language Tutor to join our remote teaching team. This role involves delivering high-quality English language instruction to students of diverse age groups and proficiency levels, using online platforms. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong command of the English language, and the ability to create engaging, interactive lessons tailored to individual student needs. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct online English language lessons for individuals and groups via virtual teaching platforms.

• Assess students language proficiency and tailor lesson plans to improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

• Utilize interactive teaching methods and digital tools to engage students effectively.

• Track student progress, provide regular feedback, and suggest strategies for improvement.

• Prepare teaching materials and resources in line with curriculum objectives.

• Manage virtual classrooms professionally and maintain a positive learning environment.

• Communicate with students and parents (if applicable) regarding progress and concerns.

• Stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and technology trends relevant to language instruction.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field preferred.

• TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent English teaching certification is highly desirable.

• Exceptional proficiency in English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.

• Comfortable and experienced with online teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or proprietary LMS).

• Ability to create customized lesson plans to suit varying proficiency levels.

• Patience, creativity, and adaptability to different learning styles.

• Basic tech-savviness for handling online teaching tools and troubleshooting minor issues.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching English as a second language, preferably in an online or remote setting.

• Experience working with diverse age groups, including children, teens, and adults, is a plus.

• Prior experience in curriculum development or lesson planning will be an advantage.

Working Hours

• Flexible working hours, with a preference for candidates available during Indian Standard Time (IST) working hours.

• Ability to manage evening or weekend classes based on student availability.

• Part-time and full-time opportunities available.
