Job Summary

Home Depot is seeking a highly analytical and customer-focused Financial Planner to join our dynamic Finance team. This remote role is ideal for someone passionate about helping individuals and businesses make informed financial decisions. As a Financial Planner, you will be responsible for developing strategic financial plans, analyzing fiscal data, forecasting trends, and supporting clients in achieving their long-term financial goals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring clients make sound financial choices through expert guidance, personalized advice, and data-driven strategies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement personalized financial plans for clients based on their short- and long-term goals.

  • Analyze financial data, market conditions, and investment portfolios to provide informed recommendations.

  • Conduct risk assessments and suggest appropriate insurance, tax, and investment strategies.

  • Monitor client accounts and update plans based on life changes, market fluctuations, or new opportunities.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations, industry trends, and new planning tools.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to align financial planning with company-wide objectives.

  • Host virtual consultations and meetings with clients to review progress and address financial concerns.

  • Ensure all client documentation and plans comply with Home Depots ethical and confidentiality standards.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of financial planning software and tools (e.g., eMoney, NaviPlan, Excel).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build client trust and rapport.

  • High attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable, easy-to-understand advice.

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.


Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Financial Planner, Financial Advisor, or in a similar financial consulting role.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing diverse client portfolios.

  • Experience in remote or hybrid working environments preferred.


Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (EST), with flexibility for client meetings.

  • Occasional evening consultations may be required based on client availability.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of tax strategies, retirement planning, estate planning, insurance, and investment management.

  • Skilled in data analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual team setting.

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
