Digital Evidence Collection & Preservation:
Collect and preserve digital evidence from a variety of devices including computers, smartphones, networks, and cloud environments, ensuring integrity and chain of custody
Utilize forensic tools and methodologies to ensure proper documentation and handling of digital data
Conduct evidence recovery from damaged or corrupted storage media while maintaining a focus on data preservation and accuracy
Data Analysis & Investigation:
Analyze data from various sources including file systems, network logs, email communications, and databases to identify evidence related to cybercrimes
Investigate digital traces left by cybercriminals including malware, unauthorized access, data breaches, and fraud
Identify relevant patterns, anomalies, or traces that could assist in criminal investigations
Review and evaluate digital artifacts, such as browser history, communications logs, and metadata, to support the investigation
Report Writing & Presentation:
Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, methodologies, and forensic evidence in a clear and concise manner suitable for legal proceedings
Provide expert testimony when necessary in court or before other relevant parties, explaining technical findings in a non-technical, accessible way
Maintain accurate records of evidence collection, analysis, and reports, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with internal teams, external investigators, law enforcement agencies, and legal teams to support cybercrime investigations
Communicate findings to clients or legal teams, offering technical expertise and recommendations for further actions
Stay updated on the latest trends and tools in the field of digital forensics and cybercrime investigations
Cybersecurity & Risk Assessment:
Assist in identifying potential vulnerabilities in systems or networks related to cybercrime incidents
Provide recommendations for improving security measures and data protection protocols to prevent future breaches
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Digital Forensics, or a related field
3+ years of experience in digital forensics, cybersecurity, or related fields, with a focus on investigating cybercrimes
Strong knowledge of digital forensic tools and methodologies (e.g., EnCase, FTK, X1, Sleuth Kit, Autopsy, etc.)
Proficiency in analyzing various digital media including computers, mobile devices, and network traffic
Familiarity with computer networks, operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS), and cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
Experience with data recovery, malware analysis, and understanding of cybercrime-related incidents
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing digital evidence handling and cybercrime investigations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, Electronic Communications Privacy Act)
Ability to present complex technical findings in a clear and understandable manner for legal professionals and non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Certification in Digital Forensics (e.g., Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CCFE), Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE))
Experience with incident response and security monitoring
Familiarity with the legal and judicial systems, including the role of digital forensics in litigation
Experience working on high-profile or sensitive cases
