Job Summary:

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Azure Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an Azure Data Engineer, you will primarily focus on leveraging Microsoft Azures powerful tools and services, specifically Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory, to design, implement, and maintain large-scale data solutions. You will work with a team of talented engineers to ensure data pipelines are efficient, scalable, and secure. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics.

  • Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Optimize data processing workflows and ensure data quality across various data sources.

  • Develop and maintain data solutions that are scalable, performant, and easy to monitor.

  • Manage data integration tasks, ensuring smooth data transfers between on-premise systems, cloud data warehouses, and business applications.

  • Implement security measures and ensure data privacy in compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Provide regular support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of existing data pipelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in working with Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory.

  • Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies, including SQL, Azure SQL Database, and Data Lake.

  • Experience in building, deploying, and managing cloud-based data solutions in Microsoft Azure.

  • Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related role with hands-on experience in Azure Synapse and Data Factory.

  • Proven track record of working on large-scale data projects and delivering high-quality, reliable solutions.

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools such as Jira.


Working Hours:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

  • Flexible work hours with the possibility of remote work depending on the candidates location and role requirements.

  • Occasional overtime may be required during project deadlines.
