We are looking for a highly skilled English Transcription and Translation Specialist to join our team. This role requires strong listening, writing, and linguistic abilities to accurately transcribe audio and video content while also translating it into or from English. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent command over English grammar and spelling, and is capable of handling diverse transcription and translation projects across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe spoken content from audio and video recordings into written English text.
• Translate documents, audio files, and video subtitles between English and another language (if applicable).
• Ensure grammatical accuracy, proper punctuation, and formatting in both transcriptions and translations.
• Work with various industries including legal, medical, corporate, media, and academic sectors.
• Identify speaker changes, timestamps, and background noise indicators where required.
• Research industry-specific terms to ensure accuracy in transcriptions and translations.
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) with native-level grammar and punctuation skills.
• Proficiency in another language (if applying for bilingual translation work).
• Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 50-70 words per minute preferred).
• Experience with transcription tools and translation software (e.g., Express Scribe, Otter.ai, SDL Trados, MemoQ).
• Strong listening and comprehension skills, with the ability to handle various accents and speech patterns.
• Knowledge of verbatim, non-verbatim, and time-coded transcription formats.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Previous experience in legal, medical, or business transcription/translation is a plus.
