Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking skilled and experienced masons and carpenters to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. We specialize in providing high-quality construction services, and we are looking for professionals who can contribute their expertise in bricklaying, stonework, concrete finishing, woodwork, framing, and interior/exterior carpentry.

This role requires individuals who can work in both residential and commercial construction projects. The ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and experience in handling tools and materials efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Masonry Work:

    • Construct and repair walls, foundations, chimneys, patios, and walkways using bricks, stones, concrete, and other materials.
    • Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials in accordance with project requirements.
    • Mix and apply mortar or concrete as needed.
    • Perform finishing work such as plastering, grouting, and sealing.
  • Carpentry Work:

    • Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
    • Measure, cut, and assemble wood, plywood, and other construction materials.
    • Construct frameworks, staircases, doors, windows, cabinets, flooring, and roofing structures.
    • Install and repair wooden structures and fixtures in homes and buildings.
    • Ensure safety and precision in cutting, shaping, and installing materials.
  • General Construction Responsibilities:

    • Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery safely.
    • Follow construction plans and safety regulations on-site.
    • Collaborate with other construction workers, site supervisors, and engineers to ensure project completion.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Inspect and report any structural issues or damages.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a mason, carpenter, or construction worker.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with construction tools and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, measurements, and safety procedures.
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and long working hours.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in masonry/carpentry is a plus).
  • Valid certification or license (if required by local authorities).

Experience

  • Entry-Level to Experienced Candidates (Minimum 1-5 years preferred).
  • Experience in commercial and residential projects is highly desirable.
  • Apprenticeship or formal training in masonry/carpentry is an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time & Part-time positions available.
  • Standard shifts: 8-10 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
  • Overtime and weekend shifts may be required based on project deadlines.
