Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Monitor database performance, implement improvements, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to protect company data.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and processes.
• Maintain database security by implementing access controls and encryption protocols.
• Conduct regular system updates, upgrades, and patch management.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including policies and procedures.
• Analyze business requirements and recommend database solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide support and training to internal teams regarding database usage and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Expertise in managing relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of database design, architecture, and administration.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database systems (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in database programming languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL).
• Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
• Knowledge of data security standards and protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Experience in managing high-availability environments and disaster recovery planning is preferred.

Working Hours

• Flexible working hours with the requirement to attend occasional virtual meetings across time zones.
• Expected availability during core business hours (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM IST).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of database architecture and storage systems.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup while meeting deadlines and deliverables.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.
