Job Summary:

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a meticulous and dedicated QA Tester to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications by identifying bugs, issues, and inconsistencies before deployment. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the overall improvement of user experience and software quality by performing manual and automated testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Identify, report, and track defects using appropriate tools and software.
• Work closely with developers and product teams to understand requirements and ensure the final product meets quality standards.
• Perform system and user acceptance testing to ensure the software meets business and technical requirements.
• Review and analyze user stories and requirements to create detailed test cases.
• Document test results and create detailed bug reports, outlining issues and providing clear recommendations.
• Collaborate with other team members to refine and improve testing processes.
• Maintain and update automated test scripts to keep up with changes in the product.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience in software testing, both manual and automated.
• Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
• Understanding of programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing.
• Proven track record in testing web and mobile applications.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Prior experience working remotely is preferred but not required.

Working Hours:

• Full-time, remote position with flexible working hours.
• Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

• In-depth knowledge of various testing techniques such as functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Expertise in bug tracking and reporting software.
