Job Summary:
As an Offshore Project Manager for Oil Rig Jobs, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the successful execution of offshore oil rig projects. This includes leading project teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. You will be responsible for overseeing offshore operations, ensuring the safe and efficient implementation of drilling and maintenance projects, while coordinating between different departments to ensure alignment with company goals and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage offshore oil rig projects from initiation to completion.
- Oversee day-to-day operations on the oil rig to ensure safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate project activities between onshore and offshore teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Manage and control project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all stages of the project.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational and financial risks.
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and removal of offshore structures and equipment.
- Monitor the performance of offshore operations and provide leadership in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Report project status and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to the offshore rigs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Strong understanding of offshore oil rig operations, including drilling, maintenance, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage large teams in challenging environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to make critical decisions under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, such as MS Project or Primavera.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Proven track record of overseeing large-scale offshore projects, managing teams, and ensuring project delivery on time and within budget.
- Previous experience working on oil rigs or in offshore environments is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in managing logistics, procurement, and offshore operations.
Working Hours:
- Offshore projects may require extended hours, including nights and weekends, depending on project timelines and site requirements.
- Flexibility to travel to offshore sites is essential. Rotational work schedules are typical, such as 2 weeks on-site followed by 2 weeks off-site.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of offshore project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and closeout phases.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex operations, budgets, and timelines.
- In-depth understanding of offshore drilling and construction operations, including equipment management, logistics, and safety standards.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work in harsh and remote environments while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
