Job Summary:

Oil Rig Jobs is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Subsea Engineer to join our team. This position involves operating and maintaining subsea equipment on offshore oil rigs, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of subsea operations. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, practical experience, and a deep understanding of subsea engineering principles, supporting the overall performance and safety of offshore drilling operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain subsea equipment, including but not limited to blowout preventers (BOP), subsea trees, and riser systems.
  • Perform installation, testing, and maintenance of subsea equipment, ensuring its functionality during drilling operations.
  • Collaborate with the offshore team to ensure the safety and efficiency of subsea operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to subsea equipment, providing on-site support and technical expertise.
  • Conduct inspections and monitoring of subsea systems to detect potential issues and mitigate risks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards in all subsea operations, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare reports on subsea equipment performance, maintenance, and repair activities, reporting to senior engineers and management.
  • Participate in project planning and execution, providing input on equipment specifications, technical requirements, and operational strategies.
  • Coordinate with offshore rig personnel, project managers, and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of subsea equipment and services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Subsea Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Subsea Operations or equivalent industry-recognized qualifications.
  • Proven experience in subsea engineering or offshore oil rig operations (minimum 3 years).
  • Hands-on experience with subsea equipment such as blowout preventers (BOP), risers, subsea trees, and other related technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues on the spot.
  • Ability to work in challenging offshore environments with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of international offshore safety standards and environmental regulations.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Subsea Engineer or in a similar role in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience working in offshore environments and operating subsea equipment on oil rigs.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of subsea equipment is highly desirable.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, rotational schedule (e.g., 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off).
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet operational demands, including extended shifts during critical operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of subsea equipment and systems used in offshore oil and gas operations.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of subsea testing, installation, and operational procedures.
  • Skilled in using subsea simulation tools and performance monitoring systems.
  • In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations related to subsea engineering and offshore operations.
