We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oil Rig Electrician to oversee electrical maintenance and repair activities on our offshore oil rigs. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical equipment and systems, including generators, motors, transformers, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Collaborate with the rig team to implement electrical safety protocols and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Install and test new electrical systems and components as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities and generate reports for management.
  • Ensure adherence to industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support during emergencies and critical operations.
  • Participate in regular safety drills and training sessions to stay updated on operational standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification in electrical maintenance or offshore electrician training is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and power distribution.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining high-voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with offshore oil rig operations and safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding and remote environments.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in offshore or onshore rigs is highly desirable.

Working Hours

  • Rotational schedule: 28 days on, 28 days off (subject to adjustment based on company policy).
  • Extended working hours may be required during critical operations or emergencies.

  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
