We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our narrative, enhancing our brand presence, and fostering meaningful engagement with stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals and campaigns.
- Create, edit, and manage content for websites, newsletters, social media platforms, press releases, reports, and other communication materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure coverage and enhance visibility.
- Coordinate internal and external communication to ensure consistent messaging across teams, partners, and beneficiaries.
- Monitor communication effectiveness through metrics, analytics, and feedback; refine strategies to optimize impact.
- Organize events, workshops, and public awareness campaigns to amplify Voices4Change’s mission.
- Provide media training and support to staff and partners to ensure clarity and confidence in messaging.
- Support crisis communication efforts and manage reputation risks with tact and professionalism.
- Collaborate with fundraising and program teams to design communication tools that support donor engagement and project implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, preferably in the NGO or social sector.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Strong storytelling ability with experience in creating engaging content tailored to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in social media management, content creation tools, and digital marketing platforms.
- Experience in media relations, campaign planning, and event coordination.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with issues related to human rights, gender equality, community development, or public health is a plus.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in designing and executing communication strategies that increase organizational reach and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams including fundraising, advocacy, program implementation, and external partners.
- Proven ability to write grant proposals, reports, and promotional materials that align with donor expectations and institutional goals.
- Hands-on experience with analytics tools to measure communication outcomes and adapt strategies accordingly.
Working Hours
- Full-time position (40 hours per week).
- Flexibility required to attend events, respond to urgent communications, and coordinate with international partners across different time zones.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may be necessary depending on campaign schedules.
