Job Summary


ChangeMakers Nigeria is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team and support our NGO awareness campaigns. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful social impact initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in digital communications and social media management. The ideal candidate is passionate about social causes, trends on social media, and engaging online communities to drive awareness and advocacy.




Key Responsibilities



  • Assist in the development and execution of social media strategies to promote ChangeMakers Nigeria’s campaigns.

  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and engage with online communities.

  • Conduct research on trends, hashtags, and competitors to optimize content performance.

  • Support the design and production of visual content, including graphics, videos, and infographics.

  • Assist in preparing reports on social media analytics and campaign performance.

  • Collaborate with the communications and outreach team to align social media initiatives with organizational goals.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for awareness campaigns.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms, tools, and trends.

  • Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools (Canva, Adobe Spark, CapCut, or similar).

  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and ability to adapt content for different platforms.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for social causes and commitment to promoting positive change.




Experience



  • Previous experience managing social media accounts for school clubs, NGOs, or personal projects is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools is a plus.




Working Hours



  • Flexible working hours; primarily remote work with occasional in-person meetings if required.

  • Expected commitment: 20–25 hours per week.

  • Ability to analyze social media metrics and use insights to improve engagement.
