FundAid Denmark is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sustainable financial solutions to underserved communities across the globe. We are seeking a passionate and experienced NGO Grant Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and fostering long-term relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector to drive funding growth and support FundAid’s mission of empowering communities through targeted grant initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



  • Research, identify, and evaluate potential funding sources, including grants from foundations, government agencies, and corporations.

  • Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals tailored to the requirements and priorities of prospective donors.

  • Develop budgets, work plans, and supporting documentation to accompany grant applications.

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders through regular communication and reporting.

  • Track grant application deadlines, reporting schedules, and compliance requirements to ensure timely submissions.

  • Collaborate with program staff to gather information, evaluate projects, and align proposals with organizational goals.

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of grants, funding opportunities, and donor contacts.

  • Support fundraising campaigns and contribute to strategy development to enhance donor engagement.

  • Prepare impact reports and donor communications that clearly articulate program outcomes and success stories.

  • Ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and organizational voice across all written materials.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in grant writing, fundraising, or donor relations, preferably within NGOs or nonprofit organizations.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Strong research skills and familiarity with online grant databases and donor platforms.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.




Experience



  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in grant writing, fundraising, or donor communications.

  • Prior experience in the nonprofit sector is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in securing grants worth significant funding.

  • Experience in preparing budgets, reports, and compliance documentation.

  • Exposure to international funding mechanisms and donor agencies is an added advantage.




Working Hours



  • Full-time position with flexible working hours.

  • Some evening or weekend work may be required to meet submission deadlines or attend donor meetings.

  • Work-from-office option with opportunities for remote collaboration depending on project requirements.
