Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and deliver health education programs tailored to diverse community needs.
- Conduct workshops, seminars, and outreach sessions on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, maternal health, disease prevention, mental health, and general wellness.
- Collaborate with local healthcare providers, government agencies, and community groups to expand the reach of educational initiatives.
- Design and distribute educational materials, including brochures, posters, and digital content, to enhance public health awareness.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs through data collection, feedback surveys, and reporting.
- Provide counseling and support to individuals and families on health-related concerns.
- Stay informed on current health issues, policies, and best practices to ensure educational content is up to date and accurate.
- Assist in fundraising, grant writing, and proposal development to secure funding for health programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Health Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience in community health programs, NGO work, or health promotion initiatives is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse audiences.
- Ability to present information clearly and compassionately in both group and individual settings.
- Proficiency in preparing educational materials and using digital platforms for outreach.
- Organizational and project management skills to coordinate activities effectively.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus depending on the community served.
- A passion for public health and a commitment to improving the well-being of others.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in health education, community outreach, or healthcare advocacy roles.
- Experience working in non-profit organizations or with marginalized communities will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated success in planning, executing, and evaluating health programs.
Working Hours
- Full-time position (40 hours per week).
- Flexibility may be required, including evening or weekend sessions to accommodate community schedules.
- Field visits and occasional travel to remote areas may be necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Sound understanding of health education principles and public health challenges.
- Ability to adapt programs to local cultural and socioeconomic contexts.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to respond to unforeseen challenges.
