Job Summary:
GlobalHope Denmark is seeking a passionate and organized NGO Volunteer Coordinator to join our mission-driven team. This role is pivotal in recruiting, managing, and supporting volunteers to maximize their impact across our programs. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with excellent organizational skills and a strong commitment to humanitarian causes. You will serve as the main point of contact for volunteers, ensuring that they are motivated, trained, and engaged to contribute effectively to our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse and skilled volunteer base.
- Coordinate onboarding, training, and orientation programs for new volunteers.
- Manage volunteer schedules, assignments, and task allocation for various programs and projects.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation, hours, and performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer inquiries, feedback, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with program managers and department heads to identify volunteer needs.
- Organize volunteer appreciation events and recognition programs to foster engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate volunteer program effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and legal requirements related to volunteering.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Resources, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle challenging situations diplomatically.
- Passion for social impact and humanitarian work.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in volunteer coordination, human resources, or nonprofit program management.
- Previous experience in recruitment, training, or community engagement is highly desirable.
- Experience working with diverse teams and cross-cultural environments is a plus.
Working Hours:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible hours may be required for events or campaigns).
- Occasional weekends or evenings for special volunteer events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of volunteer management best practices and nonprofit sector operations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Danish proficiency is a plus.
- Ability to motivate and inspire volunteers from various backgrounds.
- Conflict resolution and interpersonal negotiation skills.
