Job Summary
GreenFuture Denmark is a pioneering non-profit organization dedicated to combating climate change and promoting sustainable development. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Program Assistant – Climate Change to support the implementation and management of our ongoing climate initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, field teams, and stakeholders to ensure that programs are executed efficiently and align with organizational goals. This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to global environmental efforts while developing professional skills in program coordination, monitoring, and reporting within an NGO setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of climate change programs and projects.
- Support the development of project proposals, work plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
- Prepare reports, data summaries, presentations, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain program documentation, databases, and records for transparency and accountability.
- Support field visits and coordinate logistics, including meetings, workshops, and trainings.
- Facilitate communication between departments, partners, and beneficiaries.
- Assist in identifying potential partnerships, fundraising opportunities, and resource mobilization efforts.
- Stay updated on climate policies, research, and trends relevant to the NGO’s work.
- Perform any other duties as assigned to support the program team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Danish is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in diverse and cross-cultural teams.
- Demonstrated interest in climate change, sustainability, and environmental advocacy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in program coordination, administration, or related roles within NGOs, international organizations, or sustainability initiatives.
- Experience in data collection, reporting, or stakeholder engagement is highly desirable.
- Previous exposure to climate-related projects is an asset.
Working Hours
- Full-time position (37 hours per week).
- Flexibility required to support activities during field visits, events, and donor meetings.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may be necessary, depending on program demands.

- Understanding of global climate issues, policies, and frameworks (e.g., UNFCCC, SDGs).
- Ability to coordinate tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with partners and communities.
- Capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
