Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
- Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and training programs to ensure volunteers are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
- Manage and maintain volunteer databases, schedules, and assignments for various projects and events.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring volunteers feel valued, motivated, and supported.
- Collaborate with program managers to identify volunteer needs and align volunteer efforts with organizational goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to volunteers, recognizing achievements and addressing areas of improvement.
- Organize volunteer appreciation events and recognition programs to build morale and community engagement.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety protocols, and legal requirements related to volunteer activities.
- Track metrics and provide regular reports on volunteer participation, impact, and program efficiency.
- Act as a liaison between volunteers and management, addressing concerns and ensuring effective communication.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in volunteer coordination, program management, or community engagement roles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and volunteer management software.
- Understanding of compliance, safety, and privacy requirements in nonprofit settings.
- Conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing or coordinating volunteer programs, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian organization.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, community leaders, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and retain volunteers while aligning their contributions with organizational goals.
- Experience in conducting training sessions, workshops, or community events.
Working Hours
- Full-time position (40 hours per week), with occasional evening or weekend events depending on program needs.
- Flexibility to support urgent or time-sensitive projects when required.
