Job Summary
HopeBridge Foundation is seeking a passionate and highly organized Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the mission of our organization by recruiting, managing, and nurturing a diverse pool of volunteers who contribute to our community programs and initiatives. The Volunteer Coordinator will act as the primary liaison between volunteers and staff, ensuring a positive, productive, and meaningful volunteer experience while aligning volunteer efforts with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Manage the full volunteer lifecycle, including onboarding, training, scheduling, and recognition programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing guidance, support, and conflict resolution when needed.
- Collaborate with program managers to identify volunteer needs and integrate volunteer efforts into organizational activities.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records, track hours, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize and oversee volunteer events, appreciation activities, and training sessions.
- Promote volunteer opportunities through social media, newsletters, and community outreach initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and nonprofit regulations regarding volunteers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate volunteers.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in volunteer management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of nonprofit operations and community engagement strategies.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in volunteer management, community outreach, or nonprofit program coordination.
- Experience in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in organizing events or community initiatives is an advantage.
Working Hours
- Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week.
- Flexibility required for occasional evenings, weekends, or events based on volunteer activities.
- Some remote coordination may be allowed, but regular on-site presence is expected.
