Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Proofreader to review and polish digital content, marketing materials, and client documents. Ideal for individuals with a strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and style. Preference will be given to applicants located in or near Dallas, Texas, due to occasional optional in-person team events or client briefings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proofread and edit content for grammar, spelling, clarity, and formatting


• Review web copy, blog posts, reports, brochures, and social media content


• Ensure tone and style align with brand guidelines


• Provide clear feedback and flag inconsistencies or unclear phrasing


• Work closely with content managers, writers, and editors remotely


• Meet weekly deadlines and maintain quality benchmarks

Requirements:

• Strong command of American English (grammar, punctuation, style)


• Basic knowledge of AP Style or Chicago Manual of Style (preferred)


• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently


• Good communication skills and deadline discipline


• Experience using Google Docs, MS Word, and project tools like Trello or Slack


• Must have a reliable internet connection and computer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field


• Prior freelance or agency proofreading experience (1+ year preferred)


• Residing in or around Dallas, TX for occasional team meetups (optional)
