Job Summary
American Express is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Analyst to support ongoing market research, data evaluation, and insights generation across multiple business segments. In this part-time, contract-based role, you will contribute to key strategic projects by gathering data, identifying trends, and presenting findings that help shape business decisions. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working independently, analyzing complex information, and delivering accurate, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support business initiatives and product development.
- Collect, validate, and analyze data from internal and external sources.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that clearly summarize research outcomes.
- Identify market trends, competitive insights, and emerging customer behaviors.
- Assist in developing research methodologies, surveys, and data collection tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand research needs and deliver timely insights.
- Maintain organized documentation of research activities and data sources.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in all research deliverables.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Knowledge of research methodologies, survey tools, and data collection techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in research, data analysis, analytics, or a related field (internships included).
- Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, or Python) is an added advantage.
- Prior experience working in financial services or consulting is a plus but not required.
Working Hours
- Part-time contract role: 15–20 hours per week.
- Flexible scheduling with the ability to work remotely.
- Hours may increase during high-priority project periods based on business needs.
